World Food - SPAIN
by Beverly Leblanc
Thunder Bay Press
ISBN 1-59223-133-0
Published October 2003 - Hardcover - 256 pages - $17.98

This is one in a series of World Food books, the other titles being Italy, Thailand, and Greece.  It is a stunning example of the kind of exquisite books being published by both Thunder Bay Press and Laurel Glen Books.  It not only offers delectable Spanish dishes, but also a concise history of the produce and its early influences over the centuries.  I so enjoyed reading about what grows where and what originates from which region.  The photographic illustrations add to the book's huge attraction.  The book includes Tapas & Appetizers, Main Meals, Desserts, and Accompaniments & Drinks.  The dishes are from all over the country and include the well-known Paella, Gazpacho, Paprika Shrimp, Almond Tart, and Sangria, as well as the famous Chorizo.  I was drawn to the likes of Wrinkled Potatoes with Mojo Sauce, Chicken with Garlic, Broiled Eggplant Dip, and Moorish Zucchini Salad, which will all find themselves onto a menu of mine in the near future.  There are over 90 scrumptuous recipes to drool over.  Personally, I rather fancy the Marinated Olives for something new.  I'd love to see the other books too!
World Food - SPAIN may be purchased and/or ordered through your local bookstore.
Conclusion - Just wonderful and fascinating. BookBrowser
