Cooking the Korean Way
by Okwha Chung and Judy Monroe
Lerner Publications
ISBN 0-8225-4115-7
Published September 2002 - Hardcover - 72 pages - $25.26

I discovered this series of cookbooks in the children's non-fiction section at the library, and I thought they would be a great way to introduce oneself and one's family to the cuisine of other cultures.  You'll learn a little history of this country, read about their customs and festivals, their food, and what you'll need to prepare Korean meals.  You won't need to make drastic changes to your kitchen and neither will you have to go out and buy new utensils.  Yay.  I liked these recipes which I'd like to try out: Vinegar-Soy Sauce; Potato Soup (sounds yummy); Fish Patties, and Five-Grain Dish.  The Zucchini Pancakes look and sound delicious.  I'd like to try and make my own Kimchi, served at every Korean meal, because I love pickled cabbage.
Illustrated.  No nutritional guides.  A children's book.
Conclusion - Although the recipes are basic and few, they are not complicated and are a great way to start something new in your repertoire.
