Food Network Kitchens Cookbook
Meredith Books
ISBN 0-696-22720-7
Published October 2003 - Softcover - 288 pages - $19.95

This being the Food Network's first cookbook, it's packed with scrumptuous recipes you're going to want to try for yourself.  These talented people have added their own special touches to classic dishes which they share with us in their debut book.  It's reassuring knowing such a talented and dedicated team such as the Food Network team is behind this gorgeous book.  You'll find Morning Foods; Bites; Soups, Salads & Sandwiches; The Main Dish, which includes Noodles, Beans & Grains; Fish & Shellfish; Poultry, and Meats; On the Side; Bread Basket, and Sweets.  Tempting dishes include: Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese Frittata; Cauliflower Soup with Grilled Curried Shrimp; Pistou; Linguine with Mussels, Herbs & Wine (one of my all-time favorite meals); Chicken with Apricots, Olives & Couscous; Chinese Peppered Pork Chops; Scalloped Potatoes with Gruyère, and Baked Apples with Maple-Cream Sauce (sounds fabulous).  There is also information on cheese, how to chop fruit and vegetables, and spices.  I love that the Food Network has these statistics to brag about: 11,000 cooking shows; 30,000 recipes; 214 combined years of culinary experience, and 6,000 quarts of extra-virgin olive oil among others.  No nutritional guides.  Illustrated.
Conclusion - Wonderful recipes for all occasions.
