I found another few titles in this delightful series of books which I wanted to review. I particularly like them as they are not only for children, even though I found them in the juvenile non-fiction area in my library. Each book has interesting facts about the respective country as added reading (learning) to the recipes. I recall visiting Munich and Heidelberg some twenty years ago, but I don't remember indulging too much in the German food. I do remember the wonderful German sausages however. Of course there is more to German cuisine than sausages, and these recipes appealed to me: Fish with Mustard Sauce; Red Cabbage; Potato Soup, and Apple Cake. If you have a child (or adult) who's interested in cooking, it might be fun to check out this fine series - you never know, you might just have a budding international chef on your hands! You can enjoy reading about the history of Germany, its people, and festivals. Look at the back cover of the book for a list of other countries in this series.
Conclusion - Very interesting and worthwhile.
