Christmas Cookies
Better Homes and Gardens (Meredith Books)
ISBN 0-696-21719-8
Published August 2003 - Softcover - 240 pages - $19.95

Most people like cookies and there are over 130 exquisite cookie recipes to choose from in this gorgeous book.  The illustrations are inspirational too!  If you're stuck for Christmas gifts, then look no further.  These cookies are works of art and any serious cookie lover will surely think they've hit the jackpot should they be fortunate enough to receive a batch for Christmas (or at any other time).  Not being much of a baker myself (I boast about making pretty good biscotti), I do like cookies but have usually only managed to produce vaguely passable outcomes.  Now, however, I feel more confident that I can produce pretty and edible results.  I don't think I'll attempt the quaint Gingerbread House or the Gingerbread Log Cabin just yet.  Some of the recipes I am going to have a go at are Orange Snowballs and Chocolate Biscotti among others.  There are also a few templates (patterns) to help you perfect your cookies so there's no excuse!  Of course, the Better Homes and Gardens high standards are a great comfort when tackling new projects.  Nutritional facts are also included.  Oh, they have also noted which recipes are good for kids who want to help.
Conclusion - Very tempting and full of wonderful baking ideas and not just for Christmas.
