Over the years I have wondered what had happened to the lovely Debra Winger. Turns out she's been living somewhere on a farm in New York. I'd always thought of her as somewhat reclusive, and the only time she was in the limelight was when she was promoting a film. I didn't even know she'd married and had children. I still don't know who she married. This book is "different" in that even though it's autobiographical, it's not very revealing, and it also contains her observations and poetry. She doesn't give much detail when recalling making movies or about the people she's worked with. Of course she mentions a few of their names here and there, and even so, I found her words rather engaging. She tells of her mother's passing yet almost nothing of her life as a child. There are bits and pieces of her life and career but not in any order and even fewer details. It's more her thoughts at the time. She does talk about growing plants and food and what she derives from this pastime, as well as a little of her travels. This book involves a lot of reading between the lines for nothing is actually spelled out. Can you recall her fabulous performances in An Officer and a Gentleman, Terms of Endearment, and Urban Cowboy to name a few? I loved the cover of the book.
Conclusion - Surprisingly easy to read.
