In Praise of Tomatoes - Tasty Recipes, Garden Secrets, Legends & Lore
by Ronni Lundy
Lark Books
ISBN 1-57990-421-1
Published August 2006 - Softcover - 176 pages - $14.95

One of my favorite, and one of the most versatile of fruits, the tomato is celebrated in all its glory in this wonderful book.  Having had a successful and varied crop myself this past summer, and having tasted the most glorious of flavors, ever, I'm even more enamored with the tomato.  I now know and appreciate tomatoes so much more.  There's an interesting history of the tomato and extremely informative information you never knew about them.  Recipes include the unusual "Green Tomato Pie", the enticing "Spicy Red Tomato Cake", and "Gazpacho".  There are also recipes on canning tomatoes and sauces.  Gloriously illustrated throughout.  It was also interesting to learn about all the other exotic tomatoes out there but I didn't see anything on sun-dried tomatoes.  My dream is to have a hothouse for my tomatoes.
Conclusion - You've got to get this book!  You'll find out everything you'll ever need to know about tomatoes.
