Tiny Tastes & Mini Bites
by Thierry Roussillon
Hachette Illustrated
ISBN 1-84430-0447
Published July 2006 - Hardcover - 64 pages - $9.95

There'll come a time when visitors pitch up unexpectedly, and you'll want to offer them drinks and snacks.  Perhaps.  If you can't get to the store, or don't have one nearby, you'll be stuck with nothing to serve.  This little book has lots of ideas for snack foods and nibbles.  Now you don't have to always serve guacamole and/or salsa, and homemade is the only way to go.  There are "suggestions for themed menus" such as: Italian, Spanish, Tex-Mex, Seafood, or Vegetarian.  And most of these little treasures can be made ahead of time.  Some of these recipes that are different, are: Salami, Cherry Tomatoes, and Parmesan (topping); Eggplant Caviar; Blue Cheese and Pear tarts, and so much more.  So now you can make canapés, empanadas, dips, and mini sandwiches, among other things.  Some of these treats take a little preparation but most of them are quick and easy, if you have everything to hand.  Another reason to always have a well-stocked pantry.  I just love the idea of mini pita breads - more than just appetizers!
No nutritional guides.  Beautifully illustrated.
Conclusion - A fabulous book with great snack ideas.
