Three Weeks with My Brother
by Nicholas Sparks and Micah Sparks
Warner Books
ISBN 0-446-53244-4
Published April 2004 - Hardcover - 356 pages - $22.00

I've always enjoyed Nicholas Sparks' novels and like the way he tells a story, so when I heard he'd written a "memoir", I was keen to find out about him.  This is the story of his family life, where they grew up, his relationship with his older brother and younger sister, and their chance of a lifetime trip around the world in three weeks.  He eloquently writes about their growing up and the adventures the two of them got up to, their moving around the country, and their own families later in their lives.  Their travels took them to Guatemala, Peru, Chile, Easter Island, the Cook Islands, Australia, Cambodia, India, Ethiopia, Malta, Norway, and back home.  He details all the wondrous sights they encountered.  All the while, as he recalls the sights and sounds of the various countries, he reminisces about his youth, university, how he met his wife, his first novel, and much more.  It's a very moving account of his family and one we should all read about.  The closeness these two brothers share is to be envied and imitated - it'll not only strengthen your own life, but reinforce that family is all you really have in this life.
Conclusion - A truly delightful book - well worthwhile. BookBrowser
