Admittedly, I've not watched "The Sopranos" (probably the only person in the country!) as I don't have HBO, but I get the gist of the show. I love the subtle humor of blending the show with a cookbook - Carmela's cookbook and entertaining guide. Their Italian-American roots are evident, as pointed out in the text, and reflect a Neopolitan aspect to the dishes. There are all sorts of occasions to celebrate and cater for, and Carmela has covered them all. Some of the recipes in the book are, and I've chosen to highlight them for their diversity and originality (for me): Spaghetti Pie; Antipasto Platter (beautiful); Caponata (Sweet-and-Sour Eggplant); Potato Pie; Mostaciolli (Spiced Chocolate Cookies); and Cannelloni. None of these recipes seem too difficult or demanding and with the fun anecdoates, a really nice book. I loved the little snippets of info dotted around the book - if you didn't know it, it would appear as though their whole extended family and friends contributed.
