Sleep On It - Prepare Delicious Meals the Night Before That You Can Pop in the Oven the Next Day!
by Carol Gordon
Hyperion
ISBN 1-4013-0816-3
Published March 2006 - Paperback - 290 pages - $13.95

I bet nearly everyone with a kitchen will benefit from this book.  If you hate the last-minute kitchen rush, or don't have enough time in the evenings to put together the meal you'd really like to, then you're going to love this book of recipes from innkeepers around the country, as well as from friends of author (and innkeeper) Carol Gordon.  These are recipes you can put together the night before to save you time on the day.  Categories include Appetizers (Artichoke Spinach Dip and Chicken Liver Pâté); Breakfast (Sunday Breakfast Casserole; Buttermilk Pancakes, and Chocolate Zucchini Muffins); Brunch (Virginia Ham Tarts; Smoked Haddock Leek and Gruyère Quiche (sounds wonderful), and Bacon and Egg Lasagna); Dinner (Sweet Potato Casserole; Southwestern Frittata, and Eggplant Mozzarella); Dessert (Apfelkuchen; Brandy Cheesecake, and Piña Colada Tiramisù).  All recipes, obviously, have "the next day" steps, allowing you to take a breather.  There are also anecdotes from the contributing innkeepers.  Visit Carol at her website.
Conclusion - Extremely useful.  You can't believe how much easier things will be in the kitchen!
