I'm quickly becoming a fan of Rachael Ray's books (I still haven't seen her cooking show on TV) and can't wait to get busy with some of her yummy recipes. I'm all about one-pot meals which are healthy and delicious. I don't have the creative energy for laborious meal preparations either. This book is fun as it's all over the place, not your usual Soups, Meat, Fish, etc. You can flip through and choose a recipe - rather like throwing a dart at a map. These are some of her delectable-sounding meals: #104 Garlic and Herb Chicken with Romesco Sauce on Spicy Greens; #191 Super Marsala Burgers; #332 Bacon-wrapped Meatloaf Patties with Pan Gravy; Broccoli Frittata with Goat Cheese; Sweet Pea Soup with Parmigiano Toast; Artichoke and Walnut Pesto Pasta, and Chicken with Wild Mushroom and Balsamic Green Sauce. The book is divided into the following "categories", for some semblance: MYOTO (Make Your Own Take Out), A Big Bowl, Romantic Dinners, Burger Bonanza, Good for a Crowd, To Serve 1 or 2, Fancy Fare, Pick of the Chix, Vegetarian Meals, and Comfort Food. Nicely mixed up. I like the little check boxes for each recipe - 'Try this later' or 'It's a Keeper'. Sparsely illustrated and no nutritional guide.
