Pressure Cooker Cookbook
Better Homes and Gardens (Meredith Books)
ISBN 0-696-21215-3
Published April 2000 - Hardcover - 96 pages - $12.95

I love wirebound books, especially in the kitchen.  Following a recipe takes concentration and there's nothing worse than an open book that keeps flipping pages by itself.  At least with a wirebound book it stays open where you need it to.  I have only recently, in the past year, started using a pressure cooker.  Up until then, they scared me silly.  Now I'm quite proud I can use one confidently and so I was delighted to have stumbled across this book.  I also love the fact that you can cook good, wholesome food in a fraction of the time, especially yummy soups this winter.  These recipes got my attention: Southwest Chicken and Bean Soup; Turkey (or Chicken) Vegetable Ragout; Tangy Barbecued Pork Ribs, and Cinnamon Ricotta Cheesecake.  I never dreamed you'd be able to make a dessert in a pressure cooker.  This is a whole new world opening up for me.  The Better Homes and Gardens name is synonymous with "tried and tested" so you can confidently go right ahead and cook up a storm.  Each recipe has a nutritional guide as well.  One can go from using a pressure cooker for quick meals, to using a slow cooker to cook for you during the day.  We do have the best of both worlds.
Conclusion - A great gift idea particularly to pressure cooker newbies.
