I am dying for a panini press because I adore toasted sandwiches.  I don't have that many recipes for sandwiches, so I'll have to rely on books like this one for inspiration.  There is an art to "constructing" a panini, and if you read and remember these design tips, you can't go wrong.  Learning how thick to cut the bread slices, how moist or dry the filling should be, etc., will go a long way to help you to produce great sandwiches.  They cover Bread, Cheese, Meat and Condiments.  I found the Grilling Equipment section quite informative which will aid me when shopping for my panini press someday.  The recipe section offers these categories: Grilled Bread & Cheese; Seafood & Shellfish; Meat & Poultry; Charcuterie & Cured Meats; Eggs & Vegetables, and Sweets & Fruits.  These recipes made my mouth water: Gruyère, Ciabatta and Onion Jam Panini; Grilled Chicken, Pesto, Red Pepper and Goat Cheese Panini; Corned Beef, Savoy Cabbage and Smoked Gouda Panini, and Raisin Bread French Toast and Apricot Butter Panini.  I have to say I'd never heard of the dessert panini before, and the one that jumped out at me was Almond Ricotta Cream, Craisin and Panettone Panini!!!  Chapter 7 has Basic Recipes for Vegetables, Meats, Creams and Sauces, Butters and Spreads, Doughs and Cakes and Eggs that you can use.  There is also a wine and beer pairing section should you wish to add drinks to your meal.  I like that the recipes give alternatives regarding which breads and cheeses can be used.  Recipes I hope I never have to sample include: Fried Fish, Mashed Peas and Emmenthaler Panini; Olive, Grapefruit and Harvati Tuna Melt Panini, and Nutella, Orange Marmelade and Raspberry Panini.
Beautiful illustrations.  No nutritional guides.
Conclusion - Wonderfully inspirational and enormously tempting.
