Naomi's Breakthrough Guide
- 20 Choices to Transform Your Life

by Naomi Judd
Simon & Schuster
ISBN 0-7432-3662-9
Published January 5, 2004 - Hardcover - 276 pages - $21.00

Lots of praise for this book from the likes of Dr. Christiane Northrup and also John Gray, author of "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus".  I found this book extremely insightful and potentially helpful.  Ms. Judd certainly has had her fair share of life's ups and downs and has apparently came out on top.  She relates many circumstances she went through (I'd like to read her autobiography "Love Can Build a Bridge" to fully understand her situation) both alone and as a mother.  Admirable as this is, I couldn't help feeling as though much of what she's saying is just rearranged psychotherapy that she's had in her time.  I'm not saying that isn't good, because I'm sure there are those who can and will benefit from her wisdom, it just seems to me I've heard so much of this before and that there wasn't much I learned.  In other words, a lot of doesn't appear to be ground-breaking to me.  Some of it sounds a little bit Oprah and a dash of Dr. Phil.  I liked her line "Coincidence is God's way of staying invisible".  I feel confident in saying this book will be a source of comfort to many people and I found it easy to follow.  I like that Ms. Judd recommends helpful reading matter and I enjoyed her point-of-view.
Conclusion - Likely to be a very useful for someone going through a trying time, or trying to sort out their own life.
