Now, I don't usually review anything other than non-fiction, but I couldn't resist this wonderful children's book by Grammy Award winner Janis Ian.  I'd heard about it and wanted to check it out for myself, and I wasn't disappointed.  It's a lovely little story about a mouse who wanted a little excitement and took on an adventure.  The enclosed CD offers vocals and instrumental for piano and guitar and features the clear diction of Janis Ian, and the sheet music is also included.  The story/tune has a catchy beat and parents can help teach their children to sing along.  The illustrations are beautiful and the colors are vibrant and joyful.  I loved this idea of including the sheet music and CD as this will open a whole new world for a great many children.
