I've heard it said, "Oh my god, I'm turning into my mother!" when it comes to sorting out kids. I've even heard myself saying things eerily reminiscent of my youth, and I don't even have kids. Author Barbara Johnson says, "This book is about the misadventures of motherhood, those moments of maternal mirth, whenever and wherever they occur...," and the book's divided into age groups so there's something for everyone. Great cartoons throughout - loved the ones on pages 2, 75, and 79. These anecdotes are those of the author as well as from family and friends, and in some cases, from unknown sources, and they highlight the fact that we all go through much the same in life. As natural as childbirth is, and the mothering instinct, it's great to hear how other people handle their children and how they rear their kids. Parenting skills differ from family to family, and from generation to generation, sometimes radically, and as we've all witnessed, not everyone knows what they are doing.
