This man has the Midas touch when it comes to beautiful music.  Almost everything he's done has gone on to become hits.  Not only hit songs, but also many that we all know and sing along to.  Songs that live in our hearts and can stir our emotions beyond our control.  Of course his path to glory wasn't always easy (pretty easy), as he describes, but to us it seems quite the opposite which is one of the reasons I enjoyed reading about his life.  To get to know him.  Much of what Foster relates is a list of who he's worked with or who he's met, and it's quite an impressive list.  Normally I find name-dropping rather shallow or pompous, but in this case, it's his life and livelihood.  This book is not as indepth as I'd hoped (he seems to skim over his personal life much of the time - the book's predominantly about his work, hence the title), but it is a very interesting read especially if you're into pop music.  Belief in oneself and determination (and in Foster's case, a huge dollop of talent) is usually a good combination for success.  I can relate to much of David's earlier work (both as co-songwriter and/or producer) with Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago - two of my favorite bands.  To name a handful of others he's worked with (unfair, I know, to the rest, but there just isn't enough space!), there is Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Michael Bolton, Josh Groban, and Michael Bublé.  Foster is also an accomplished multi-instrument musician, and heavily involved in charity work.

Conclusion - Extremely interesting, if not a little rushed.
