Don't you just love the smell of food on the grill? Sizzling sounds and tempting aromas? Makes my mouth water just thinking about what could be on the grill. In this case, Taste of Home's big book offers a wonderfully varied bunch of recipes to choose from, and there are meals to select from these categories: Appetizers; Salads; Sides; Sandwiches; Beef; Chicken; Turkey; Pork; Fish & Seafood; Lamb; Sauces & Seasonings, and Desserts. That's a lot to choose from. If you've not grilled before, it's worthwhile digesting the Grilling Basics chapter so you'll eliminate mistakes so easily made by the uninitiated. You can use the recipes in this book to make complete meals around the grill, which will free up your kitchen for a change. I hate messy kitchens! Some of the more unusual recipes that jumped out at me include: Jalapeño Chicken Wraps; Campfire Potatoes (rather like scalloped potatoes on the run); Tortilla Burgers; Spicy Filet Mignon; Montego Bay Chicken; Tarragon Mustard Turkey, and Pork Chops with Mango Relish. This is not to say that there aren't any traditional or classic recipes, there are, like Honey Barbecued Ribs; Barbecued Burgers; Grilled Steaks, Fajitas and Wings, and of course, Cookout S'mores.
Recipes are illustrated. No nutritional guides.
Conclusion - Delicious-sounding recipes for a great many different "grillable" foods.
