I couldn't think of anything worse than having your terminal illness documented on film and then shown to the world on television.  Farrah Fawcett did just that, but thankfully, she had her good friend Alana Stewart with her all the way as a pillar of support.  Ms. Fawcett was well known and well loved, and to watch her dying wasn't pleasant.  Ms. Stewart's diaries throughout her friend's illness, plus stories of their thirty-year friendship about which she also tells us, forms the basis of her book.  Two beautiful women from Texas with a bond so tight it stayed intact.  Farrah wanted Alana to make the film of her receiving cutting edge cancer treatment in Germany and to document their trips.  In conjunction with her diaries, we get "a celebration of our friendship as much as it is a chronicle of cancer treatment" according to Ms. Stewart.  For three years these two women were at each other's sides whenever needed during the cancer.  Reading this book will enforce the belief that the tabloids will write whatever they want, often to the anguish of the subject and their family.  Alana Stewart sets the record straight.  Throughout the book you know in your heart that Farrah tried everything to beat her cancer, and her bravery and determination serves as a great motivator for others with this disease.  By reading this book you'll get to know the strength and courage that made Farrah Fawcett the feisty lady she was.
Conclusion - A great inspiration for anyone battling something terminal in their lives and a source of comfort despite the incredible sadness.
