This is the second book I chose to read in this series. Food I'm very familiar with. Once again, there is a brief bit about the country, and I found the festivals and holidays particularly interesting as there were many I'd never heard of before. Although I grew up eating "English" food, it wasn't the traditional food in every sense. We had Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding as a treat, but were accustomed to bacon and egg breakfasts, Scones, and Shepherd's Pie. I'd like to try the recipe for Carlings as I don't recall ever having had them, at home or abroad. I was surprised there wasn't a recipe for a Trifle, a most English pudding and quite delicious. And neither was there one for Bubble and Squeak.
Illustrated. No nutritional guides. A children's book.
Conclusion - Easy to follow recipes many of us know and love.
