Many of us are not only watching our waistlines, but are also watching our purse strings.  So, this book makes perfect sense (pun intended).  The cover says these are "amazing meals for less than $3 a serving".  Mmmm, to me that sounds expensive to make.  (I am only one to feed.)  However, most people have families to cater for so costs would be higher.  Over and above customary categories (Salads & Soups for Dinner; Pizza, Pasta & Sandwiches; Vegetarian; Chicken & Turkey; Beef, Pork & Lamb; Fish & Seafood; On the Side, and Desserts & Treats), there is very useful information in the Introduction.  Info such as 40 Ways to Save Money, Your Waistline and Your Health, and Healthier Food, Happier Lives.  We're also given Budget Basics which covers most everything you need to know to become budget-conscious in the kitchen.  Their "Get Organized" and "Get Cooking" and "Get Equipped" sections are sure to help you get what they're getting at.  It's basically common sense (should be taught in schools in my opinion!) and very helpful if you like eating healthy food at a reasonable cost.  You don't have to forgo great meals either.  I especially liked points 14, 21, 28, 33, and 34.  These are just a few of their recipes that not only yelled "goodness" and "inexpensive", but also YUMMY!: Curried Red Lentil Soup; Cream of Turkey and Wild Rice Soup; Zucchini, Fennel and White Bean Pasta; Barley Risotto with Fennel; Chicken and Sweet Potato Stew; Brown Rice Curried Meatloaf (sounds divine); Pinto Bean and Andouille Sausage Stew, and Sesame-Orange Shrimp.  I loved the Build a Better Side Salad ideas.  I have to say that the Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce sounds very tempting.
The only thing I found annoying was that I couldn't find what the HW, HH, and HF symbols meant.  Please let me know what they are or where they are explained in the book.  Maybe it's just me being silly.
Beautifully illustrated.  Nutritional guides are given.
Conclusion - An essential book in every kitchen!  Very interesting and delicious-sounding recipes to keep you healthy and won't cost a fortune.  Highly recommended, hence my check mark rating!  Good Job!
