So few of us have time to languish dreaming about what to make for supper, so this book should come in really handy.  I don't like it when recipe books call for ingredients you've never heard of (unless of course it's a specialist cookbook) and aren't likely to have at home.  These guys give you hints and tips at the beginning of the book about preparation time, pantry picks, real quick, cool tools, and double duty.  However, not far into the book, I came across something I definitely don't have, and have never heard of, and wouldn't know where to get it - shivo miso (white fermented soybean paste).  Is this just me?  There are over 100 easy recipes (not all illustrated) to try, like: 30-minute Turkey Chili; Tiramisu Rapido; Little Cheesecakes with Strawberry Sauce; Pork Tenderloin with Chipotle-Maple mop; North African Chicken Stew; Grilled Salmon with Peppers and Herbs; Brothy Japanese Noodles with Mushrooms and Tofu; Skillet Cornbrean Pudding with Ham and Pepper Jack, plus soups and salads.  At the end of the book there's a handy section called "the simplified kitchen" where you can get great hints and tips on how to streamline your kitchen and pantry.
Conclusion - Very nicely presented. BookBrowser
