Who really has that much spare cash to do some serious home decorating?  Or even redecorating?  No taste?  No style?  It's doesn't really matter.  What does matter is that you express yourself - but just remember, more is less.  And the best part is that it won't cost a fortune.  The fabulously talented experts at Better Homes and Gardens have put together this very helpful book, and show us how to update what we already have in our homes.  They've broken their ideas down into these categories: Enter (your entryway); Live (your living spaces); Rest (bedrooms); View (window treatments); Paint (paint what you like); Accent (lighting and accents), and Bloom (flowers).  The changes are simple enough to do - or as dramatic as you choose.  I liked the helpful hints and tips throughout the book.  I also liked the ottoman ideas.  I thought the quilts hanging on a ladder was a great idea, as was the unusual wall color for a bedroom on page 45, and the bottles on page 53.  Other fun ideas are the beaded window treatments on page 64, the pretty wall finish above the fireplace on page 71, the beautiful mirror above the bed on page 82, the striped bathroom walls on page 92, and the thrifty "lantern" on page 102.  It's amazing what a difference flowers can make.  The best part is that you can scour thrift stores and flea markets and not have to pay such high instore prices for "new" stuff.
