If you know a little about professional golfer John Daly, you'll know he's not conventional, and in this book he tells it like it is - it's like he's talking directly to you. His story is not a pretty one, but an interesting one. It's his chance to tell his side of the story to clear things up for everyone who's read all the rubbish written about him. For example, he clears up what exactly happened at his Colorado home in 1992 - he swears he trashed his home, not physically abuse his wife, which is how the stories ran. It's not surprising John Daly's written a book - I'd also want to set the record straight. There's no beating around the bush. He also tells about his wins and losses on the golf circuit, people he's met, his feelings and reactions, his chronic gambling (casino) losses, his cross-addiction to chocolate while he was sober, his fines and suspensions, trips to rehab, his marriages and divorces, his disastrous spell with anti-depressants, his excessive drinking, and his incredible golf game. I liked the Q&A section of the book - nice touch. Daly may not have a great writing style, but I admire him for doing it and for setting the record straight. I learned a new word - mully-grubbing. Can someone tell me what it means as it's not in my dictionary? Raw, basic, honest, and you can learn a lot about the game of golf.
