Published April 2008 - Hardcover - 230 pages - $14.95

Any kind of change in our lives can be daunting.  The thought of change is enough to make many people just think of something else.  Not so for authors Bob and Melinda Blanchard.  They dared to dream and then turned it into reality, and not just once either.  If only it were that easy.  I have many dreams of where I'd like to live, what I'd like to do to earn money, etc., but no idea of how to make these a reality.  Not anymore!  Their five steps gave me food for thought about prioritizing myself, my life, and the changes I felt were needed.  The Blanchards have tried a few different jobs and ended up running a restaurant down in Anguilla in the Caribbean while living in Vermont.  They followed their passion and urge us to find our passion and to hang on.  Their book is full of encouragement, Dos and Don'ts, personal stories as well as the stories (and questions) of others, some of which are hard to believe, but with which you can identify if ever you've been stuck in trying to find out what you should be doing with your life.  You're not alone wanting a new life you can love.  A dream or idea may just be the first link in the chain of events to something new in your life.  They also give a few brief quizzes which are food for thought and contemplation about the change you're feeling or are wishing for.  One thing they point out, is that many of us have too many thoughts and dreams swirling around our minds, and that it's a case of prioritizing and sorting out our dreams so that we can then work towards successfully realizing them.  They offer thoughts to think about when it comes to our excuses - we all have excuses, and they really get in the way.  In a nutshell, their philosophy is Live What You Love.  Sounds wonderful.  My philosophy?  If you don't dream, you may as well give up.

Conclusion - Interesting and helpful, and this book would make a great gift to anyone in a dilemma about their life.

"Thanks so much for your review.  With the current economy being what it is, it's more important than ever to live what you love.  It's a perfect time to take control - as opposed to allowing outside circumstances guide you along.  Instead of worrying about job security, if you follow the 5 D.R.E.A.M. steps, you'll be steering your own ship."  Bob and Mel Blanchard
