I think I have just about covered all of the books in this series of informative cookbooks which I came across in the children's non-fiction section at my library.  I didn't know much about Norwegian food other than herring and salmon, but I've since learned that they make cheese, raise sheep, goats, pigs, and dairy cattle and that they grow vegetables and berries despite their extreme light and darkness climate.  They also seem to celebrate life and nature a lot, with lots of festivals and outdoor activities.  If you think about having six months of light and six months of darkness, you've got to be creative to survive such extremes.  I love the open-face sandwiches, something I often enjoy but never knew they were "Norwegian" per se.  I fancied these recipes: Poached Salmon; Fruit Soup (I would think this would make a wonderful winter dessert if served warm!), and Gingerbread Cookies.  As always with these books, it's a combination of interesting information to learn about the different countries or areas, as well as a few traditional recipes, all of which I think is a great way to educate children.
Conclusion - Yet another interesting title in this series.
