Comfort Food
by Kay Scarlett
Laurel Glen Publishing
ISBN 1-59223-114-4
Published September 2003 - Softcover - 400 pages - $16.95

Probably one of the most handy cookbooks I've come across in ages as it measures only 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches - very convenient while cooking.  Packed deliciously full of good, home-cooked recipes reminiscent of family meals as a child.  Dishes such as Steak and Kidney Pie, Beef Curry, Shepherd's Pie, and Macaroni and Cheese (this one is probably too rich for me).  Of course there are fish, soup, and vegetable dishes too, all lip-smackingly tempting.  What I particularly like about these books, is that most recipes don't require you to go out and restock your pantry with ingredients you'll hardly ever use.  You can nearly always get by using what you have.  With winter just around the corner, there are over 40 soup recipes!  Even an easy French Onion soup.  Each recipe is also beautifully illustrated.  Personally, I can't wait to get busy trying out the "Spicy" section, where I will have to get some special spices.  Yum, yum.
COMFORT FOOD may be purchased and/ordered through your local bookstore.
Conclusion - If you're looking for an easy-to-make recipe book, look no further. BookBrowser
