Casseroles, or one-pot meals as I like to call them, are the easiest (and least messy) way to wonderful family meals, especially in winter.  A hot and bubbling creation right out of the oven is enough to get everyone's taste buds on edge.  This huge collection of dishes from readers across the country have all been tried and tested for both beginner cook and the more experienced.  Great knowing that many of these recipes have been used for ages to comfort families and will continue to do so because of this book.  Contents include: Casserole Basics; Poultry Classics; Beef Classics; Pork Classics; Seafood Classics; Quick & Easy; Pot Luck Pleasers; Pies & Pastries; Meatless Classics; Side Dishes; Breakfast & Brunch, and World Favorites — a huge variety to choose from.  Some of the casseroles that sound appealing, and very tempting to me, are: Turkey Sausage and Noodles; Hungarian Cabbage and Chicken; Beefy Eggplant Parmigiana; Sauerkraut Beef Supper; Bratwurst Potato Skillet; Stick-to-Your-Ribs Supper; Au Gratin Spinach 'n' Pork; Shrimp Chicken Skillet; New England Fish Bake; Spinach Ravioli Bake; Tuna Spaghetti Pie; Spinach Mashed Potatoes (something different), and Scalloped Cabbage (ditto).  The recipes offer the names and places from where they were contributed — a nice touch for the reader/cook.  A common denominator throughout many of these recipes is a can of condensed cream of something soup — perhaps that could be changed.
Conclusion - A lot of pasta-type dishes, but a lot of good ideas for quick meals.
