Casseroles, especially in winter, are wonderfully comforting and relatively easy to make.  I love the idea of one-pot cooking too.  There are over 380 recipes to choose from in this book, so you'll be more than covered for what to serve this winter.  What I also love about casseroles is that they usually freeze well, so while the oven is on, why not make two or three which you can freeze to save time on the days time is tight!  This book covers Breakfast & Brunch; Bread; Dessert; Fish & Seafood; Meat; Meatless; Potluck; Poultry, and Side Dish.  I never thought about breakfast in the form of a "casserole", but you may want to consider Ham & Cheese Strata; Spinach Breakfast Casserole, or Mushroom & Egg Casserole.  Of the Breads I fancy the Parmesan-Olive Bread.  From the Desserts, Chocolate Bread Pudding and Peach-Praline Cobbler take my fancy.  Mediterranean Tuna Casserole and Shrimp New Orleans sound delicious.  Eggplant and Beef Casserole and Creole Lasagna will make nice alternatives.  I also fancy the Pork Chop Casserole.  As a meatless dish, I'd love to try the Fennel-Leek Moussaka and the Layered Potato & Leeks.  Take your pick with Potluck - they all look yummy - as does the Poultry.  We're spoiled for choice I have to say, but not all recipes are traditional casseroles as they've included Lasagna, Pies, and Bakes.  The great thing is that these recipes have been tried and tested by the Better Homes and Gardens famous test kitchen.  There are also wonderful hints and tips to consider for your kitchen.  No illustrations.  Nutritional guides are given.
