Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book - 12th Edition
Better Homes and Gardens (Meredith Books)
ISBN 0-696-21881-X
Published September 2002 - Ringbound - 642 pages - $29.95

Now this is what I call a Cookbook!  And it's been going for decades.  I love the beautifully put-together folders.  All neat with a clearly marked index system (25 sections in total, which includes Holiday Entertaining).  This is a thorough and complete cookbook and no wonder it's America's #1 cookbook.  It has everything.  Can you imagine recipes such as Key Lime Fudge, Pheasant Marsala, Turkey and Pasta with Peanut Sauce, Snickerdoodles, Cream Cheese Mints, Caraway Rye Bread, Buffalo Wings, and oh so much more?  There are over 1,000 recipes and more than 700 photo illustrations.  You can make meals from scratch, and, they're much better for you.  I recommend investing in a book like this as it will be with you till the end of time.  It's probably the most comprehensive cookbook I've ever come across.  It has everything from great illustrations, to meat cuts, metric conversions, cooking times, and of course, each recipe is tested by the Better Homes and Gardens Test Kitchen, and they also have the nutritional information for each recipe.
Conclusion - This is a treasure for any kitchen and would make a great gift for anyone just starting out.
