Cooking for Two
Better Homes and Gardens (Meredith Books)
ISBN 0-696-21344-3
Published - 2002 - Hardcover/wire - 96 pages - $16.95

I love it when publishers put out Cooking For One or Two cook books as I dislike having to always reduce quantities of a recipe.  This is also a wirebound book which pleases me.  They've included storing and roasting meat tables, which is handy, and an indication of a good cookbook.  I liked their suggestions scattered around too.  They have everything from sandwiches to soups, meat and meatless dishes, fish and chicken, breakfasts and desserts.  A comprehensive array of delectable palate-pleasers, not only for two, as you can increase the quantities accordingly.  My fancy was taken with the Italian Breakfast Frittata; Mixed Berry Shortcake; Grilled Fennel-Cumin Lamb Chops, and Grilled Trout with Mushrooms.  Not every recipe is illustrated but that's okay as each one has a nutrition guide which is more important.  I liked that they've given the start-to-finish times, and whether they are fast to make or are low-fat/low-carb.  Again, knowing that the Better Homes and Gardens test kitchen have tested these recipes, is very reassuring.
Conclusion - An ideal gift for a couple just starting out or for empty nesters, or just something new for yourself.
